Becoming a Flight Attendant

We recruit Flight Attendants to provide exceptional Inflight service for the welfare, comfort, enjoyment and safety of our passengers.

We aim to provide an Inflight experience which is superior to our competitors and which consistently exceeds our customers' expectations.

  • A typical day as a Flight Attendant

Describing a typical day for a Flight Attendant is almost impossible. Every day presents different people (both your colleagues and your customers) and different destinations.

The most important aspect of the job is the safety of your passengers, your fellow crew and of course yourself. Flight Attendants are highly trained in safety and security so that in the very unlikely event of something going wrong, you are prepared to take action.

Another key aspect of your role as a Flight Attendant is Customer Service. The variety in your daily role is endless. From serving meals, to assisting someone with their onward travel plans, to relieving a frustrated mother of her crying baby, to helping a tourist plan their holiday in New Zealand.

The role brings out your can do attitude, your natural friendliness and plenty of opportunity to just be yourself.

Of course as a Flight Attendant there will be plenty of opportunities for you to spend time in the amazing and exciting destinations on the Air New Zealand network.
