Kate Tzikas, Sales Operations Manager
I manage the Sales Operations team for the Australian region. The team is responsible for providing operational and administrative support to the Head of Leisure Sales Australia, the Leisure Sales Manager, our 12 Account Managers, external customers and trade partners. We also provide general administrative support for the Australian Regional office.
Where did your journey start?
April 1999 as an Air NZ Reservations Consultant based in North Sydney. This role offered a great opportunity to develop a strong foundation of which I have been able to continue growing throughout my Air New Zealand career.
It stirred my passion for aviation, our product and our customers.

- Re-employed with AIRNZ in Travel Centre/Agency Sales on a contract role
- Made permanent and seconded into PA role
- PA to GM Australia - 2004 to 2007
- Sales Operations Manager - 2007 to current
Where do you hope your journey will take you?
Air NZ has given me the opportunity to realise my potential and achieve many personal goals over the last 12 years. The experience has equipped me with management skills as well as leadership qualities that will help shape my future with the airline. I'll continue looking for opportunities that allow me to grow within a team environment whilst developing new skills along the way.
What Air NZ value do you feel you best represent and why?
"Can Do" - Being part of a small offshore team, I am always happy to assist other departments to get the job done.
What's the best story you've been able to tell after a day at work?
Winning ATW airline of the year in 2010 and again in 2012, the sense of pride and acknowledgement in receiving such a prestigious award, just reinforced the hard work that everyone puts in to make our airline successful.
