Tell us about your department?

I work in the Online Sales Channel in North America, previously I worked in IT and wanted exposure to the commercial side of the business and this was a great opportunity for that.

Where did you journey start?

I started in 1996 as a Database Administrator in Los Angeles but I could probably go even further back to when I saw an Air New Zealand DC10 flying over my school.

Where do you hope your journey will take you?

The prospect of working in head office interests me, I think working in a region like North America gives you a valuable insight into the airline.

What Air New Zealand value do you feel you best represent and why?

Can do attitude - I pride myself on being able to get things done it is certainly something that distinguishes us.

What's the best story you've been able to tell after a day at work?

Getting systems and resources set up for new operations into San Francisco and Vancouver. There was a lot to do and a lot of obstacles and we overcame all of them.

Tell us about your department?

I work in the Commercial area which used to be pricing. We work with Revenue Management to make sure our pricing is competitive and we achieve the best yield and load mix. We do a lot of analysis of our bookings, revenue, forecasting and market share. It is a good area if you like numbers and enjoy the challenge of coming up with the optimal outcome. We also very involved with new products and fares that need to have appeal in the market and work with other areas to achieve the company's business goals.

Where did you journey start?

I came from another airline. This opportunity came up and I saw it as the perfect step up from what I was doing previously.

Where do you hope your journey will take you?

Not sure at this stage.

What Air New Zealand value do you feel you best represent and why?

Be yourself as I find being natural, honest, truthful and transparent as important attributes, essentially being who you are.

What's the best story you've been able to tell after a day at work?

We had a promotion where we had excess capacity and therefore we put a very sharp fare out in the market place. It was a team effort with marketing and sales and we were able to stimulate demand in the market and create some buzz in getting more people to go to New Zealand.

Tell us about your department?

I work in the Leisure Sales Channel in North America and my role focuses on increasing revenue in the wholesale market. I work with 26 key accounts that sell land and air.

Where did you journey start?

I started in Finance making copies and filing.

Where do you hope your journey will take you?

It would be good to spend some time in the marketing space as I love promotions and branding.

What Air New Zealand value do you feel you best represent and why?

Can do, as I am always wanting to try new things and help other people.

What's the best story you've been able to tell after a day at work?

Right after 9/11 we had a lot of challenges in difficult times but working as a team and getting people on their flights made the effort and extra hours worth it.
